IG Scope:
Recent advances in mobile broadband communications have witnessed a dramatic technological evolution of multimedia content dissemination. The objective of the Multimedia Networking (MN) Interest Group is to identify and promote necessary enabling wireless technologies for efficient wireless multimedia communications and distributions. Topics of interest for the MNIG include, but are not limited to, the following scopes:
- Wireless system architecture design and performance analysis
- Transmission technology for multimedia communications
- Bandwidth efficient wireless techniques
- Energy efficient and power management
- Synchronization and equalization at low SNR
- Enabling technology in emerging multimedia systems and networks (e.g. WiMax, LTE-Advanced)
- Quality oriented resource allocation
- Cross-layer design for multimedia communications
- Quality of service for multimedia communications
- Distributed coding and joint source-channel coding
- Location based multimedia service
- Handoff in multimedia communications
